WOD
All levelsThe daily group class — a structured warmup, strength piece, and conditioning workout written fresh every Sunday. Scaled for every body in the room.
Est. 2020 · Midtown Sacramento
A 6,000 sq ft group-training studio with six programming tracks, four coaches, and zero patience for the bro stuff. First class is on the house.
The studio
Tyler 'Coach T' Robinson opened Granite Fitness in 2020 after eight years coaching at three of Sacramento's biggest box gyms. He left because the rooms had stopped feeling like rooms — too many members, not enough hands on the bar, not enough eyes on people's hips.
Granite is built on the opposite premise. Class caps at 12. Every coach knows your name, your training history, and the lift you've been afraid to load. Programming is written in-house every Sunday — no apps, no franchise template — and tuned to the people actually walking in the door.
We get that 6 a.m. on a Tuesday is hard. The coaching staff makes it feel a little less like a punishment and a little more like the highlight of your morning.
What we run
Six tracks. Built to make you stronger, faster, harder to kill — without breaking you. Show up to one or stack them.
The daily group class — a structured warmup, strength piece, and conditioning workout written fresh every Sunday. Scaled for every body in the room.
Snatch, clean & jerk, and the variants. Small group, video review, and a coach who's actually competed. We rebuild your lifts from the floor up.
Engine-builder for runners, rowers, and CrossFit athletes who keep blowing up at the 10-minute mark. Aerobic intervals, tempo work, threshold pieces.
An hour of soft tissue, joint mobilizations, and end-range strength. The class your hips and t-spine have been begging you to take.
Three-class on-ramp for new members. We'll teach you the squat, deadlift, press, kip, and the language we'll be yelling for the next year.
Coached open-gym time. Bring your own programming, work on a goat, or follow the day's WOD on your own clock. A coach is on the floor the whole time.

The coaches
Every coach on the floor has earned the cert and the calluses to back it. We hire for one thing first: do they make you want to come back tomorrow.
Owner · Head Coach
Coach T spent eight years at the biggest boxes in Sacramento before opening Granite. He competes regionally, programs for the studio, and is the reason your snatch is finally clean.
Endurance · Mobility Lead
Sarah ran D1 cross-country, then spent six years coaching endurance athletes through Boston qualifiers. She'll save you from yourself on the longer pieces.
Olympic Lifting Specialist
Jamal is a national-level weightlifter and the calmest voice on the platform. If your clean has stalled at 185 for two years, he's the one to fix it.
Foundations · WOD
Priya runs the Foundations track. She came to CrossFit from a 12-year yoga career, which means she'll teach you the squat without you ever feeling rushed.
Membership
No annual contracts, no judgment if you take a month off. Cancel any time, come back when life cools down.
One class, no commitment. Bring a buddy, bring yourself, see if the room is for you.
For the 2x-a-week crowd. 90-day expiry, no autopay, no contract.
The all-in plan. Unlimited classes + open gym, the cheapest way in if you're showing up 3x or more a week.
Real members
I'd been to three other gyms in town. Granite is the only one where the coach actually corrected my deadlift in the first class. I've been here three years.
I came in skeptical, having never lifted a barbell. The Foundations track was the best fitness investment I've made. Priya is patient and clear and not at all intimidating.
Coach T fixed a snatch I'd been wrong on for five years. The Olympic lifting program here is no joke — small group, video review, real coaching.
Still on the fence?
First class is free. No sales pitch — just a coach reply telling you what to show up to.
